About Us
FIDO LIVERPOOL is a dog daycare and home-boarding provider based in Woolton Liverpool, boasting a large outdoor all-natural space in which our guests can zoom and play all day !
Our objective at FIDO LIVERPOOL is to promote dog happiness and wellbeing in the South Liverpool area by providing the Best Environment to satisfy the three fundamental factors of Dog Wellbeing

-
Physical exercise
-
Socialisation
-
Exploration

Our 50m x 10m Parkland style garden boasts a wide open lawn giving our guests the opportunity zoom, and hit full stride during games of chase and fetch, and a woodland area and hedgerows to explore.

Rigorous exercise is crucial to a dog's wellbeing, and with an increasingly fast-paced life, its tough to find the time to give your pooch the exercise they need.

At FIDO the fun never stops, With all-day access to our garden area, our guests decide when play time is. In addition to the usual zooms, wrestling matches and games of chase, we provide other forms of enrichment such as fetch, tug o' war matches, and search and retrieve style games.

Dogs naturally socialise in packs just like most other members of the Canis genus. this means that the opportunity to socialise with members of their own species is crucial to their cognitive health and wellbeing. in addition to this fundamental need, there are a plethora of other benefits that can be derived from adequate socialisation, such as:

-
Building confidence/reducing social anxiety
-
Opportunity for physical exercise
-
Reduction of undesirable behaviours at home
-
the opportunity to engage in species specific behaviours

Research gathered from several different studies, identifies the average pack size of Canis species members, for example wolves, at eight members. therefore, FIDO LIVERPOOL maintains its capacity in accordance with this data to provide our guests with a social experience which most closely resembles a natural pack environment.

Fido
Guarantee
FIDO LIVERPOOL is a fully licensed higher standard daycare and boarding provider. This means we've been awarded a higher standard rating by Liverpool Council, which covers key areas such as hygiene, safety, and quality of facilities.
Due to this, FIDO community members can rest assured that their beloved pooch is not only having the time of their life playing, socialising and exploring with the FIDO pack, but are doing so in an environment which is as conducive to their health as it is to their happiness.

In addition to licensing standards, we aim to go further through the implementation of self-imposed standards.
These include:
Qualified Staff: OFQUAL Level 3 Diploma in Canine Care Behaviour and Welfare
Selection Policy: For the safety of our guests we deem certain breeds unsuitable for the FIDO environment, these include:
XL Bull
Pitbull
American Bull
Mastiff breeds
Rotweiller
(non-exhaustive)
Furthermore as per our selection policy we only accept non-aggressive dogs. We will accept nervous dogs who are in need of pack integration (socialisation), however it is imperative that they have not displayed aggressive behaviour previous to their first FIDO visit.

The Fido Story

Im Matt, founder and head of dogcare at FIDO LIVERPOOL.
I have an academic background in Zoology and Animal Behaviour, and nearly a decades worth of experience working in the pet services industry, specifically with dogs. These combined pursuits have given me a unique insight into the disparities between domestic pet care, and factors attributable to animal wellbeing from a zoological perspective, highlighting how many household pets aren't provided with the lifestyle necessary for their wellbeing.
Subsequently I turned my academic eye to Law, becoming particularly interested in the regulations surrounding animal welfare, and during which time I founded FIDO LIVERPOOL. After obtaining my Law degree I was offered a contract with an inner city firm, which I decided to turn down, opting to continue building FIDO Liverpool with the goal of creating a place perfectly suited to promoting canine welfare, development and wellbeing within the south Liverpool dog community .
